LIFE-Nature is a financial instrument created in 1992 for co-financing of actions on the environment in ' European Union. The objective
for any particular financial instrument is to contribute to the implementation of EU regulations for the Conservation of Nature, such as "Birds" Directive (79/409/EEC) and Habitats (92/43/EEC), and in particular contribute to the establishment of the European network "Natura 2000 " totality of the S ites of I mportanza omunitaria C (SIC) for the conservation and management of species of fauna and flora and key habitats and representative of the European Union. The challenge is to promote the conservation of biodiversity, taking into account both the needs of scientific, economic, social, cultural and entertainment venues. The network "Natura 2000" is thus not aimed at the creation of sanctuaries in which all human activity is systematically prohibited, because the protection of biodiversity of the designated sites may also require the continued presence or the promotion of some human activities.
